This year the films submitted for the Northern Silver Screen demonstrated innovation and good practice within the categories of Low Carbon, Localism and Big Society. We decided upon thesecategories following consultation with Members which indicated that, as these themes are very much the priorities for the Coalition Governmentit was important to reflect the positive practice being undertaken in the North in a way which was consistent with this.
