The changes planned by the Coalition are dramatic. Rents, tenures, grants, planning and benefits are undergoing radical change. It is exciting; there are opportunities but also considerable uncertainty and thus risk.
The big questions are: -
What social outcomes do you want to achieve from the new housing model?
How long should tenancies be?
Who should be your tenants?
What should be the level of rents? Do you want one rent level or multiple levels?
What are the big risks around developing?
Do you want to develop?
How large a development programme do you want and how will you fund it?
How will the above change nomination arrangements with local authorities?
This seminar examines the need for active asset management to maximise capacity. Working on revenue savings is all very well, but the real savings are in managing your assets strategically, coherently and efficiently. All housing organisations have a duty to optimise the use of their assets and to make them work for the benefit of their housing objectives. This seminar will help you do this.
