The government is committed to protecting and enhancing the environment and tackling climate change, government has a long-term goal to reduce carbon emissions by 60 per cent by 2050. With homes accounting for around 27 per cent of the UK's carbon emissions, it is clear that we need to change the way we have been building our homes and communities.  Under the current climate of the decline in the housing market and soaring fuel and food costs, many are asking can we still afford to go green. All sectors have a key role to play in the Environment, Energy and Sustainability agenda, and the housing sector has a prime position in this, we need to work in an environmentally focused manner and adopt ways of efficiency and saving money and that of our customers. 

This event will provide an opportunity to address these challenges, the day will cover;

• demystify the Code for Sustainable Homes,
• addressing the debate about meeting environmental standards within existing buildings,
• outline Government policy,
• explain the introduction of Energy Performance Certificate's
• a developers perspective of meeting code level 4 and above
• Sharing best practice. 

This conference will act as a catalyst for change, enabling delegates to learn from speakers and one another.
